Announcing Release of Mixxx DJ Software Mapping for Denon SC Live 4 Controller
October 1, 2026
Mixxx software users can now download my full-featured controller mapping for the Denon SC Live 4.
Today, I released free, open source mapping for the Denon SC Live 4 (4-channel DJ controller) for use with the open source app Mixxx.
This mapping allows SC Live 4 owners who use Mixxx to enjoy all of the controller's core features across all four decks. It not only preserves most of the standalone controller's functions operating as Denon DJ designed them to work but I've also added new modes and controls in this first release. This allows you to unlock additional features that normally can be accessed in standalone mode or which come only through the Mixxx app but using intuitive controls.
A system I created for the mapping is called "Settings Pad Mode". This allows you to use the controller's performance pads and parameter buttons to access and change settings that the user normally cannot access via DJ software while in Computer Mode. This is paired with a "pad meter" system that gives the user visual information about settings based on the number and color of pads lit while settings are being changed. It eliminates guess work about what settings you're adjusting and by how much, and it can be done in the middle of performance right on the controller.
You can download the mapping and its documentation for free via my GitHub repository here: https://github.com/artmechanix/denon-sc-live-4-mixxx-mapping
I've also submitted the code for review and consideration as an official contribution to the Mixxx project. Interested parties can subscribe to that pull request here: Denon SC Live 4: add controller mapping by artmechanix · Pull Request #17201 · mixxxdj/mixxx · GitHub.
